Founded in New Orleans in 1972, Popeyes has 45 years of history and culinary tradition. Today Popeyes is one of the world's largest quick service restaurant concepts with over 2,600 locations worldwide.
Founded in Jacksonville in 1994 by Firefighter brothers Chris & Robin Sorensen Firehouse Subs has growth to over 1500 restaurants worldwide.
Our Team
Eddie Tsang
President & CEO
Eddie brings a wealth of knowledge from the franchised restaurant/QSR world with 13 years of experience working with multinational franchises such as Papa John’s Pizza and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen. He has successfully scaled Papa John’s Pizza to 25 units across Northern Alberta and is a co-founder of Synergy Franchising which currently owns and operates 19 locations and actively growing the brand to more than 24 locations.
An entrepreneur at heart, Eddie leads his teams by being a servant leader, taking care of his people and giving back to the community - this has allowed the successful growth of his companies and teams.
Eddie has a beautiful family of four and love spending time with his wife Tammy, his daughter Madison, and his son Cassian. Eddie is a passionate hockey fan and enjoys spending time outdoors mountain biking and snowboarding.

Kyle Ferbey

Kyle is an experienced senior leader across multiple industries. He is the co-founder of Synergy Franchising which currently owns and operates 19 Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurants and employs over 600 people. In addition, he is the founder of Legend Rings, the fastest-growing Championship Ring provider in the world. Kyle has a passion for business, community, and people.
Kyle is married to his beautiful wife Laura and they have two dogs named Charlie & Ella. Kyle enjoys traveling as much as possible as well as competing in CrossFit and passionately supporting the Edmonton Oilers.

Troy Bender
Vice President
Troy has over 20 years in leading winning teams. His experience has been with brands like Starbucks, Rogers and the University of Alberta. Troy is currently a senior leader at Synergy Franchising, partnering and collaborating with a diverse, people focused team. His mandate as a servant leader is to coach and develop the future leaders of our brands.
Troy is married to Gina, his loving wife and has two amazing children (Alexa and Jake) as well as two playful dogs, Zooey and Mia. They enjoy seeing the world, experimenting with cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Domino Cahilig
Manager, People & Development
As our Manager of People & Development Domino’s focus is to help our in-store leaders grow in their roles and continue to advance withing the company. Domino also leads all training and LTO initiatives. He has a passion for operational excellence and to see people grow.
Outside of work, Domino loves spending time with his dog Boogie. He also loves to read, run and go to the gym.

John Romales
Manager, Asset Control
John is responsible for Synergy Franchising’s restaurant asset control plans. To increase awareness in cost saving metrics, manage restaurant inventory levels, lead district in repairs & implementing maintenance cost control program and lead in loss & prevention audits.
Prior to joining Synergy Franchising, John worked in the food industry for 18 years. Setting company brand standards, creating local marketing strategies and training & empowering team members to deliver quality food and an amazing guest experience.
John is happily married to Hershey, they have a 13 year old son named Ezekiel. They love watching movies, camping and try different kinds of food. In John’s free time he loves to downhill mountain bike.

Giovanna Jurado
District Manager
As District Manager, Giovanna’s primary objective is to lead our team of general managers at different locations to reach sales targets, manage store budgets, and elevate the guest experience.
Giovanna joined Synergy Franchising in 2019 as an Area Manager and has helped open several new store locations since then. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and a Business Development Diploma from the University of Alberta.
Giovanna enjoys spending time with her husband, Santiago, and their two children, Sebastian and Vanessa. Giovanna is passionate about travel, fitness, and soccer. Her favorite travel destination is Colombia, where she is originally from.

Anna Reyes
Corporate Controller
Anna works in the Finance and Accounting department at Synergy Franchising. As the Corporate Controller, she is responsible for leading and managing Synergy’s corporate finance, financial reporting, financial process management, budgeting and forecasting.
Before joining the team at Synergy, Anna spent her career working for both private and publicly traded companies based in Edmonton, AB in a variety of sectors including oil and gas, retail, and pharmaceuticals. She completed her Bachelor of Commerce Degree at the University of Saskatchewan, majoring in accounting. She received her Chartered Accountant designation while working with an accounting firm in Edmonton.
Born and raised in Saskatoon, SK, Anna enjoys cooking, travel, live music/theatre, and spending time with family and friends.

Kayla Spencer
Marketing Coordinator
As Synergy Franchising's Marketing Coordinator, Kayla is responsible for maintaining local partnerships, local store marketing, community outreach, and executing brand standard visuals in store and online. In addition to ensuring all current locations have what they need from a marketing standpoint, she also executes all grand opening plans for Edmonton and Northern Alberta remote locations.
Kayla joined Synergy in January of 2019 when she relocated to Edmonton from her home on the Central Coast of California. After receiving her Business Administration Bachelor's Degrees in Entrepreneurship and Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo, she worked for her family's local business and spent several years in the finance industry.
Although she has an affinity for the warmer months in Edmonton, Kayla has thoroughly enjoyed transitioning to life in Canada. She enjoys travelling, cooking, and spending quality time with her husband, Christopher. Together they have a dog named Blu, and 3 cats: BK, Pepper and Cozy.
